After 02 Latin Grammys nominations, The Baggios releases "Tupã-Rá".

The Baggios makes a fusion of África and the Brazilian northeast in the solar album Tupã-Rá (2021, Toca Discos).

Brazilian power trio new Album's closes the trilogy started in Brutown (2016) and Vulcão (2018), which received nominations for the Latin Grammy.

Tupã-Rá

There are several connotations for the verb ‘illuminate’ and The Baggios transits through some of them to give life to the fifth studio album, Tupã-Rá, Which hits streaming platforms on November 4th through the music label Toca Discos, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The album, which has references to the act of clearing even in the title (Tupã is the god of thunder; Ra is the god of the sun), brings contemplations and reflections on how man relates to space/time amid vibrant approaches and sounds, positive and dancing.

Tupã-Rá ends with celebration and joy the trilogy that began with Brutown (2016) and transited through Vulcão (2018), third and fourth album, respectively in the solid The Baggios' career discography of +15 years – and two albums that led the band to be nominated for a Latin Grammy.

While in Brutown, The Baggios brought revolts and anguish of an urban scenario taken by sociopolitical chaos (reflections of a Brazil in tatters with the impeachment of Dilma Roussef, the tragedy of Brumadinho, for example), the next album, Vulcão, represented the escape to the countryside in search of self-knowledge and peace through less troubled paths.

This new work, recorded between March and July of 2021 at the studios' Maca Records and Peixú Estúdio (both in Sergipe, Brazil), and produced by vocalist/guitarist Julio Andrade, the band shares the fruits of the immersions and reflections of those times.

Tupã-Rá brings 12 tracks that offer positive messages, d an ode to the community, the joy of partying among friends, being resilient with hope and talking about believing in changes in days that are still so full of challenges, prejudices, and greed.

The Baggios is one of the most important rock bands in Brazil today. They played at Lollapalooza Brasil in 2016 and toured over Mexico, Italy, France, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States, as well as more than 80 cities in Brazil.

The Baggios has now 05 albums, 01 dvd and more than 15 years of career, the trio (nominated to the Latin Grammy in 2017 and 2019 - Best Rock Album) has collected great feedbacks around the world for their visceral shows and originality in their albums, with classic tones and blues riffs that mix very well with the weight of the seventies psychedelic rock and Brazilian music, Baião, Indie Rock and Desert Blues.

The Baggios will be soon announcing their new European Tour, as well they're working now to promote the new album in Brazil and abroad. Check more info about The Baggios here.
