Hate Moss is an Italo-Brazilian duo formed by Tina (voice and electronics) and Ian (voice and drums).

BIO

In 2017 Tina and Ian met in London (UK) and decided to start an independent label, Stock-a Records which then became Stock-a Production, a collective with the main focus to support emerging artists.

Their collaboration turned into a music project in 2018 when they launched their first single “Honey”, followed by various tours in Brazil, Italy and UK. Their first album, “LIVE TWOTHOUSANDHATEIN”, was released in May 2019 through their own label and brought them to present their work in Spain, Portugal and Turkey as well as international festivals such as Venice Biennale (IT), Locomotiva Festival (BR) and Goiania Noise (BR) where they shared the stage with underground renowned artists such as Rakta, Boogarins and Ratos de Porão.

In 2020, due to Covid-19, they had to cancel their first European Tour, that would see them perform in 7 countries with 15 shows. During this time, they launched their single “Fog”, recorded, produced and released during their first lockdown in London.

During summer 2020, considering the pandemic and Brexit situations the band was forced to move back to Italy, where they decided to focus on their new album.

“NaN” Hate Moss new album

The Italian-Brazilian duo Hate Moss, formed by Tina (vocals and electronics) and Ian (vocals and drums), has just released the second album of their career, NaN, which uses many sound textures to address the alienation of our time. The album was recorded in the UK, Italy and Turkey and is now available on digital platforms.

In computer science, NaN (/næn/), short for Not a Number, is a numeric member of a data type that can be interpreted as an undefined or unrepresentable value.

The title represents the main theme of the album, which focuses on the alienation derived from the habit of treating human life from a cold calculation.

The cultural syncretism, already present in his early works, became even stronger through the fusion of different musical styles and languages.

As Hate Moss emphasizes, "Opting for a more commercial musical approach does not imply relinquishing socially relevant issues, which in fact assume considerable importance, providing the listener with a simple way to understand a deeper message."

In this album, as in the debut, Hate Moss invited several artists in the recordings of loops, instrumental parts and features, among them the artist Carolina Zac in the song Stupid Song and Isis Broken in the song Pensar.

NaN is the result of a collaboration between the Stock-a Productions label, the Brazilian labels Before Sunrise Records and the Argentine label Rock City Agencia.

All songs were composed by the duo Hate Moss and the album was produced and mixed at In A Sleeping Mood with Hate Moss. Mastering is the work of Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering studios.
